Medical Qigong Certification
The entire program is 3 years if a student wish to attain the highest level of certification possible, Master's in Medical Qigong. There are 3 levels of certification from the International Institute of Medical Qigong that occur after successful completion of each year:

Medical Qigong Practitioner MQP (year 1)

Medical Qigong Therapist MQT (year 2)

Master's in Medical Qigong MMQ (year 3)
The curriculum has been standardized by Dr Jerry Johnson, the founder of the International Institute of Medical Qigong. Under special circumstances, some classes may be taken without the prior class (although certification requires that all classes are eventually attended).
In the event of missed time due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will be able to make-up the time via private sessions.

YEAR 1: Medical Qigong Practitioner (MQP)
The MQP is the first level of certification consisting of 200 hours. A Medical Qigong Practitioner Certification will be awarded after successful completion of:
- Attendance of 4 classes (4 days x 8 hours each) 128 hours
- Introduction to MQ Therapy and Healing
- Introduction to MQ Imbalances and Healing Treatments
- Clinical Foundations of MQ Therapy and Healing
- MQ Treatment of Internal Organ Diseases and Prescription Exercises
- Clinic, supervision and final exam (3 days X 8 hours) 24 hours
- At Home Practice, Cases & Write-ups 48 hours

Class 1: INTRODUCTION TO MEDICAL QIGONG THERAPY AND HEALING
Class 1 Syllabus (18 kb PDF file) This first class has an emphasis on MQ exercises. These exercises are a basis for creating and maintaining a strong physical, mental and spiritual foundation. Before we can heal others, we must first heal ourselves. As a healing practitioner, we must keep our energy vital, be free of charged emotions and have a strong connection to the divine. These exercises help us to maintain health and vitality, to clear physical and emotional toxins as well as reconnect us with our true spiritual nature. Students will also learn and experience the physical, psychological and spiritual nature of each organ and their associated meridian pathways. Students will begin learning psychological theories that are complementary to this work. All classes consists of both theory and experimental.
Class 2: INTRODUCTION TO ENERGETIC SENSING AND MEDICAL QIGONG HEALING PROTOCOLS
Class 2 Syllabus (16 kb PDF file) This second class introduces the student to the basic qigong healing protocols for treating clients including techniques for energy purging, tonifying and regulating. Through meditations and practice, the student will have opportunity to develop their intuitive and perception skills and to practice energy sensing for diagnosis. Students will experience the importance of focused intention; intention leads the mind and the mind leads the qi. Students will also learn protective techniques for their energy field to avoid absorbing toxic qi while treating clients.
Class 3: CLINICAL FOUNDATIONS OF MEDICAL QIGIONG THERAPY
Class 3 Syllabus (19 kb PDF file) The third class continues to give the student foundational material to establish a healing practice or a clinic. Additional Qigong healing techniques are covered including invisible needles and energetic point therapy. Additional prescription exercises are covered for internal organs and the use of healing sound therapy. Students also learn how to combine MQ with other healing modalities.
Class 4: THE TREATMENT OF ORGAN DISEASES AND MEDICAL QIGONG PRESCRIPTION EXERCISES
Class 4 Syllabus (16 kb PDF file) The fourth class continues to explore the role of organs and organ disease in traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong. The class will explore treatment of liver, heart, spleen, stomach, lung and kidney diseases. Each organ is looked in terms of treatment protocols as well as appropriate prescription exercises to give the client.
Clinic 1: CLINICAL THEATRE, INTERNSHIP AND FINAL EXAMINATION
The clinic will be the culminating event for each of the certification programs (MQP, MQT, and MMQ). The clinic offers the student the opportunity to treat clients in a supervised setting. This allows the student to become progressively more confident in diagnosis and treating clients. It also give the student an opportunity to learn how to maintain good client records. Students are invited to bring their practice case studies to class for discussion and review.
YEAR 2: Medical Qigong Therapist (MQT)
The MQT is the second level of certification consisting of an additional 300 hours. A Medical Qigong Therapist Certification will be awarded after successful completion of:
- Medical Qigong Practitioner 200 hours
- Attendance of 4 classes (4 days x 8 hours each) 128 hours
- Sensory, Intuitive and Perceptual Diagnosis
- MQ Dao Yin Therapy and Rectifying Qi Deviations
- MQ Therapy for Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Neurology and Psychology
- Introduction to MQ therapy for Oncology (1)
- Clinic, supervision and final exam (3 days X 8 hours) 24 hours
- At Home Practice, Cases & Write-ups 36 hours
- Additional Requirements: These classes are waived in the event of prior training. Otherwise, they are mandatory and can be fulfilled via audio classes provided by 3 Treasures Healing or with training from colleges either physically or online.
- Basic Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory 50 hours (this class is available now) Required textbook is Foundations of Chinese Medicine by Giovanni Maciocia (2nd Edition). This class is taught by Lisa VanOstand and Maureen McManus. Maureen is a licensed acupuncturist in North Carolina and interned with a fifth generation Chinese Doctor. These audio classes are meant to teach, reinforce and supplement basic foundational material of Chinese Medicine. If you are enrolled in any 3 Treasures Healings training, these classes are available to be downloaded (preferably) or through CD's for $200.
- Western Anatomy and Physiology I 50 hours Audio classes coming in the fall of 2008
- Western Anatomy and Physiology II 50 hours Audio classes coming in the fall of 2008
YEAR 3: Medical Qigong Therapist (MMQ)
The MMQ is the third level of certification consisting of an additional 500 hours. A Master's of Medical Qigong Certification will be awarded after successful completion of:
- Medical Qigong Practitioner 200 hours
- Medical Qigong Therapist 338 hours
- Attendance of 4 classes (4 days x 8 hours each) 128 hours
- Introduction to Chinese Energetic Alchemy
- Energetic Anatomy and Physiology
- Treatment of Cancer with Medical Qigong (2)
- Medical Qigong Treatment for Spiritual Disorders
- Clinic, supervision and final exam (3 days X 8 hours) 24 hours
- At Home Practice, Cases & Write-ups 206 hours
- Additional Requirements: These classes are waived in the event of prior training. Otherwise, they are mandatory and can be fulfilled via audio classes and/or CD's.
- Advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory 32 hours
- First Aid and CPR 16 hours
- Taiji, Bagua or a movement style of Qigong 32 hours
